Anthony Mark Machek, age 52, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Saint Thomas Hospital West in Nashville, Tennessee.
Born on March 29, 1973, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, he was the son of Anita Chance Machek and the late Martin Machek.
Mark was a veteran of the United States Army, who served his country with honor while stationed at Fort Campbell. After his military service, he worked as a computer technician at the University of Kentucky Research and Education Center in Princeton, Kentucky, where he a valued employee for the last 11 years.
An ardent lover of nature, Mark enjoyed fishing and hiking. He loved listening to music, spending time with his loyal dogs Marley and Sadie, and had a keen fascination with cryptids like Bigfoot and Chupacabra.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Machek.
Mark is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 28 years, Linda Briggs Machek of Cadiz; his mother, Anita Machek of Deridder, Louisiana, and his siblings, Allison Machek and Andrew Machek, both of Deridder, and Angeline Machek of Carmichaels, Pennsylvania.
A committal service with military honors will be held at a later date at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz.
