Trigg County officials held a special proclamation on Saturday morning for Peace Officer Memorial Week.
During the brief ceremony, Trigg County Judge-Executive Stan Humphries recognized Harold Wayne and Teresa Lane Cash, the parents of fallen Calloway County Chief Deputy Jody Wayne Cash. He was killed in the line of duty on May 16, 2022.
Humphries described what ‘Thin Blue Line’ means, sharing that it’s a symbol and phrase representing law enforcement as the protective barrier that stands between community order and criminal chaos.
Humphries and Cadiz Mayor Todd King delivered the proclamation.
Humphries shared more of the proclamation, including a great appreciation of all officers.
During the ceremony, Trigg County Circuit Judge Jamus Redd offered an invocation and lifted up some of the local families, who have lost loved ones in the line of duty.
The ceremony took place on the sidewalk in front of the Trigg County Justice Center.
