The Hopkinsville Kiwanis Club is inviting the community to take part in its annual golf scramble fundraiser, an event that helps fund programs and services for children across Christian County.

The four-person scramble is scheduled for May 29 at Western Hills Municipal Golf Course, with a registration deadline of May 15. Organizers say the event continues to grow as one of the club’s signature fundraisers.

Now in its fourth year, the golf scramble features a full day of activities including a putting contest, shotgun start and lunch for participants. Proceeds support Kiwanis initiatives such as the Warm the Children program, leadership development opportunities and partnerships with local youth organizations.

Kiwanis Club President Amy Jones said the fundraiser plays a key role in supporting the club’s broader mission.

The Hopkinsville Kiwanis Club has a long history of serving local youth. Organized in 1921, the club is one of the oldest in Kentucky and has spent more than a century supporting programs ranging from youth athletics to academic recognition and service leadership groups.

One of its most recognizable efforts, the Warm the Children program, has provided winter clothing to hundreds of children in need in recent years, alongside scholarships and other assistance funded through community events.

Like many Kiwanis fundraisers, the golf scramble relies on both team participation and business sponsorships. Sponsorship opportunities range from hole sponsors to larger title partnerships, with funds going directly toward children-focused projects in the community.

Jones said the Kiwanis event is designed to combine community engagement with fundraising.

In addition to the tournament, the club is also selling fundraising T-shirts, with proceeds benefiting children in Christian County.

Kiwanis Vice President Troy Adams said the campaign provides another way for residents to contribute.

The club is currently seeking teams of four players, along with sponsors for the event. Organizers say the scramble offers a chance for local businesses and residents to connect while supporting a common cause.

Weekly Kiwanis meetings are held Thursdays at noon at the War Memorial Building, where prospective members and participants can learn more about the organization and its projects. The community is invited to these meetings and lunch is provided.
