CCPS Announces Harrell As New Director Of State, Federal Programs

Christian County Public Schools has named Aaron Harrell as its new Director of State and Federal Programs, effective July 1. Harrell currently serves as superintendent of Webster County Schools.

Superintendent Chris Bentzel said Harrell brings strong instructional leadership experience and a commitment to student success, adding that district leaders look forward to the perspective and experience he will bring to the role.

Harrell has more than 20 years of experience in public education and will begin his 22nd year in education this fall. He began his career as a high school English teacher before moving into school and district leadership positions focused on instructional improvement, student achievement, and school culture.

He earned degrees from University of Southern Indiana and Murray State University.

Harrell said he is excited to join Christian County Schools and support students, teachers, staff, and the community as part of what he called a high-performing team.

Harrell and his wife, Melody, have one son, Cooper.
